FALSE ECONOMY.

Andy MacHine was a man from "The Isles"

He knitted wool jumpers, in traditional styles.

His quality goods achieved local fame.

He then thought to expand, by spreading his name.

So enquired of makers how much they would charge,

To make sew-on labels, neat but not large,

But just big enough, so his name was quite clear.

Being Scotch to the core, he found them too dear.

He did find a maker, after many more tries,

Who would cut down the cost, by reducing the size.

Not just of the label, but the message thereon.

He Faxed them a letter, " Och Aye carry on ".

They finished up different from the original design,

Which said

HAND MADE IN SCOTLAND

BY ANDREW Mac HINE

So he wasn't as pleased as he might have been.

When he read

MADE IN SCOTLAND BY A MACHINE.
