WASN'T IT STRANGE?

Wasn't it strange the way that we met?

For the very first time, the result of a bet

Your friends had conspired hoping to see,

What fun would result, if they paired you with me.

They arranged that blind date, watching with glee,

As you frowned at my jokes, but kept laughing at me.

Their prank they agreed, had been a success.

But just how successful, they'd not know or guess.

Their attention distracted, you tipped me the wink.

Then I played along, giving them cause to think,

That the laugh was on us, they'd had all the fun.

But a lifetime of friendship for us had begun.
